Allium Nigrum was discovered in the area around the Mediterranean in 1762. Admittedly, Allium Nigrum, “black allium” or black garlic, is a confusing name. While the colour of the ovary is black, the actual flower is white. The black of the ovary makes for a great contrast with the pure white leaves, and gives it an overall appearance of understated chic, or confident cool. Allium Nigrum really stands out and does a lot with a basic colour combination.
