For over 25 years, Cor and Bianca have specialized in agapanthus, and for the past 15 years, they have also been growing callas and kniphofia in Portugal. What makes Eyco unique is that all their varieties come from their own breeding program, meaning no one else in the world has these flowers.

Unique flowers with a focus on quality
Eyco strives for perfection in every flower. Their agapanthus varieties are bred for a long vase life—lasting up to two weeks. Kniphofia is continuously improved, with dead tips being bred out and new, extraordinary color variations emerging. For callas, the focus is on sturdiness, length, color, and longevity.
Because all varieties are developed and grown in-house, Eyco has full control over the process. This means that flowers with stunning colors but insufficient quality are immediately sorted out. Their close involvement ensures the continuous improvement of their varieties.
Sustainable cultivation in Portugal & the challenge of affordability
Eyco cultivates its flowers under natural conditions in Portugal. The callas grow in plastic tunnel greenhouses, while the agapanthus and kniphofia are grown entirely outdoors. This contributes to strong, robust plants and enables efficient cultivation.
The affordability of flowers remains a challenge due to rising energy and transport costs. By making smart use of Portuguese growing conditions and continuously optimizing their process, Eyco seeks a balance between exclusivity and cost efficiency.
Growing seasons:

Future & vision
Eyco has no ambition to expand in size but instead focuses on innovation and improving its assortment. Developing new, exclusive flower varieties and distributing them more widely—possibly with other growers or in Africa—is an exciting possibility for the future.
